Random PC Card Spotlight: Walt Weiss - 1999 Fleer Ultra

1999 was the second year that Walt Weiss was part of the Atlanta Braves.  Known for his defensive capabilities rather than offensive prowess, Weiss manned the shortstop position while the Braves enjoyed consecutive 100+ win seasons in '98 and '99.

Career Wins above Replacement Value:  15.1 (14 seasons)

*Weiss found himself losing playing time during the 2000 season because of the emergence of a young shortstop named Rafael Furcal.  Furcal went on to win the 2000 Rookie of the Year award, the same award Weiss won 12 years earlier in 1988
