Retro Box Break - 1996 Stadium Club Series 2

Today, we got a retro box break from 15 years ago:

1996 Topps Stadium Club Series 2

Let's start it off with the number 1 song on this date 15 years ago:

Now that we have some background music, let's jump into the break. (If you don't like the song, it's okay, you can still view the post in the comforts of silence)

First off here are the Mantle inserts:

I really love the photography on the horizontal cards in this product as you can see in the top two cards.

Now here are the Xtreme Player parallels:

Apparently these cards were part of a promotional contest run by Topps in 1996.  These cards were exchangeable for a special limited card if the player depicted finished first statistically at their respective position.

Next up are some of the more notable Team Stadium Club (TSC) short prints

Some more great photography here.  You got the "Eck" and the "Big Unit" sporting epic mustaches, a great pic of "Tornado" Nomo in the middle of his patented windup, and the newest member of the 3,000 hit club, Mr. Jeter, giving a TSA-like pat down to a downed runner.

Next are some pics of base cards worth noting.

Omar Vizquel looks like he killed the catcher on his card and Tony Gwynn sliding towards fellow Hall of Famer Ozzie Smith is pretty cool.

Now for the personal collection:

Got a pretty nice lot of Braves cards in this box.  Smoltz, Maddux, Glavine, McGriff, and a young Chipper to add to my PC.

The most painful card I have ever seen

My future's so bright, I gotta wear shades

Heeeeey Macarena

What do you mean you forgot your bat?

"Dude, I just got the newest cell phone on the market.
And you really need to check out this new movie that just came out
